    Midtown Story Submission Form
  • Six-Degrees of Connection seeks to gather stories and data from our Midtown communities. If you live, work, or have some other connection, past or present, to what is now the geographic center of town - the Midtown corridor, campus of College of Santa Fe or SFUAD, and surrounding neighborhoods, we want to hear your story and the stories of your neighbors.

We hope to gather a chorus of voices that will help forge a strong community archive that is made by and for the people, as well as develop creative expressions that will reflect and draw from these neighborhoods. We will also be authoring a brief for the City of Santa Fe that we hope will help inform the development of the Midtown district.

These stories and data will potentially be shared on social media, websites, public events and screenings, and reports. In the first section you will be guided to share a story (remember: everyone has a unique story to tell). The following section asks for some demographic information, some of which is optional, and can be anonymous. Thank you for contributing to this project! For questions and more information about this project, please contact Estevan Rael-Galvez: nmstoryteller@gmail.com or Jamie Blosser: jblosser@sfai.org. Please contact us if you need help filling out this form or you can email your stories to us as well.

Participants who complete this form and share with one or two others will receive a gift certificate that supports local businesses in this area.

We suggest filling out this form on the same device your media is on.

  • View Outside the Front Door

Now more than ever we are compelled to observe our homes and the views around where we live more closely, including what we see right outside our front doors. Look outside. What is nearest to your door? What’s in the middle ground? And finally, what’s furthest off in the distance? What are the smells and noises?

  • Object Stories

The objects in our houses can evoke stories about our families, friends, wider communities, and places of belonging. What artifacts (candles, family heirlooms, pieces of furniture, etc) tell a story about your relationship to home, your neighborhood, and Santa Fe?

  • Foto Historia

Photos document the people and places that make our lives meaningful. They hold memories of our ancestors, record important events, remind us of sites that may no longer exist, as well as show how the passage of time is reflected in our homes, businesses, parks, and schools. What photographs do you hold dear that reflect past and present events in your home and neighborhood?

  • Storied Streets

There are over 50 streets and many key landmarks, including parks, in the neighborhoods of Casa Alegre, La Cieneguita, Bellamah, Rancho Siringo, Casa del Cerro, Hopewell-Mann, and surrounding areas. Each one of these streets and landmarks is named for something, someone, or someplace. These streets also embody memories and hold stories that are both personal and communal. What stories do your streets and those in your neighborhood tell?

  • Submission Guidelines

    • Content must be for all ages and will be checked to insure appropriateness prior to use.
    • Minors/teens will also need permission from a parent/guardian (unless your submission is a drawing, written piece, audio only, or your video does not reveal your identity).
    • By submitting, all participants agree to the terms and our right to broadcast and make public all submitted content.
  • Demographic Info

We would like to know more about who lives and works in the neighborhoods surrounding the Midtown campus. We understand that some of these questions may be sensitive, and you are free to provide these answers anonymously if you wish for them to remain confidential. Your answer will help us to provide a more accurate picture of the diversity of experience, background, and perspective that Santa Feans like yourself bring to our community, and which can help inform the development of the Midtown Campus. Thank you for your participation!
