ASNA Election of Officers 2020
Deadline: 5pm on July 15, 2020
Serving as a leader in ASNA offers great opportunities to build professional networks with other nursing professionals and support the legislative process. Take an opportunity to get involved in your state governance process! The ASNA Nominating Committee has opened its 2020 Call for Nominations for the following offices:
(Alabama’s Delegate to ANA; therefore must be a dual member of ASNA/ANA)
This is an elected position. The president-elect shall assume the duties of the president in his/her absence; serve as a delegate to ANA House of Delegates, must be a member of ASNA/ANA, and ensure dual membership from campaign through term of office; and serve as a liaison to the districts.
This is an elected position that is responsible for monitoring the fiscal affairs of the association and shall provide reports and interpretation of ASNA’s fiscal condition to the House of Delegates, the Board, and the membership. Additionally, the treasurer shall serve as chairperson of the Committee on Finance.
Commission on Professional Issues (4 Positions)
Members are elected; however, anyone may participate as consultants. COPI’s focus is any issue impacting the nursing profession. Each year the committee selects a new focus.
Nominating Committee (Districts 1, 2, and 3 only)
This is an elected position that is responsible for developing the annual ballot. The committee usually meets early summer.
All positions carry a 2-year term.
All current members are invited to nominate themselves and/or other members.
All nominees must complete the “Nomination Form” under “Don’t Forget” at alabamanurses.org.
