New Freshman Major Change Request

If you are a new first-year student (freshman) and would like to change your major, we encourage you to first speak with a member of the Academic Advising Team so that you can make a well-informed decision and discuss any potential schedule changes. You can visit our "Meet with an AAC Advisor" page for information on how to meet with an advisor.

Once you submit a major change request, it may take up to one week for your official university record to reflect the change.

If you already have a fall 2025 course schedule: A professional advisor will review your schedule as soon as possible and determine if any changes need to be made. If that is the case, the professional advisor will contact you via your Southern email.
