This initiative has been made possible through a joint partnership between the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) and The Robonauts, a 501(c)(3) organization founded by AMWA Premed member Sophia Shams (who is also a member of the All Girls Robotics FRC Team sponsored by NASA and The Girl Scouts).
The design has been provided by Michigan Medicine: University of Michigan. The materials are being collected per the spec (PLA and 4 mil Polyester) and funded by a grant through the American Women's Hospitals Service (a program of AMWA) and generous donations to The Robonauts GoFundMe account. Please consider sharing this page widely to help both healthcare workers on the front lines request the PPE* they need and also to encourage additional funding so that we can meet the needs of our healthcare family across the country and ultimately, the globe. The face shields are being provided free of charge, thanks to our generous donors. We just ask recipients to cover shipping costs.
The American Medical Women's Association, through the American Women's Hospitals Service, has been supporting global health efforts and answering the call for service since 1917. Learn more about this initiative at amwa-doc.org.
