    Do you want to have a voice in making the library a better place for teens? Join the ACPL Teen Advisory Board to help plan programs, meet other teens, and earn volunteer/community service hours that will look good on college and job applications. TAB members must be in grades 9-12.
  • What does TAB do?

    All TAB members work as a team to create, plan, and implement teen programs; recommend books, movies, and games; volunteer for community projects; and assist in creating an inviting teen area in the library.

    TAB Member Expectations

    • Be an active and positive participant in the group
    • Be willing to serve for at least a year
    • Time Commitment: 1-hour meeting every second Thursday of the month from 7-8 PM 
    • Monthly Program/Review Commitment: Attend a teen program at the library (other than the TAB meeting) OR write a review for a book, comic, graphic novel, or video game to be used at the library
    • Volunteer: TAB will participate in several service projects a year. You must attend at least one. You will receive volunteer hours for attending TAB meetings and volunteer events.

  • I understand that by signing below and submitting my application for TAB membership that I am agreeing to take my position seriously if selected and I am able to commit to all of the following:

    • Attend monthly TAB meetings (with no more than two unexcused absences) during my 12-month term
    • Arrive on time for all meetings and events
    • Bring ideas to meetings and help facilitate events
    • Attend at least one teen program (virtual or in-person) or write a review each month
    • Follow through with all commitments I make to TAB
    • Follow all procedures, policies, and rules as outlined in the TAB Member Expectations as well as all library policies
