  • SUGGESTIONS FOR STORY CREATION

You do not need to be a seasoned writer.  Every PCV has stories to tell.  Try to collect your ideas on one or two pages.  Our curators will help you edit a final draft for posting on the Museum website.

Please address these questions in 600-700 words.

    • How did you first encounter the object?
    • In what ways did the object help you serve? How were you or the people around you changed by your service?
    • What was the object’s symbolic or practical cultural significance?
    • Describe an event or experience connected with your service—whether happy, sad, strange, or other.

Please review these articles about Micro-Memoirs and Peace Corps Themes before writing your story.
