The Peace Corps experience is often expressed by objects and stories that volunteers bring home. You may contribute an object with brief description or submit a story about your service. Or, you may send us both.

Submit a request to donate object(s) with descriptive text. If you choose to submit a story, please refer to the Story section, below.

Please write about each object’s significance – How, when, and where were the objects used by you or within the community? How did you acquire the objects and why are they important to you?

You may write a story with or without an object. Describe the impact of an event, a relationship with host-country national or something that transformed you then, or later in your life. Published stories are approximately 700 words in length.

If an object or story is selected, I understand that the object may not be exhibited or the story may not be published. For a story, I agree to accept editing suggestions from the Museum’s editors concerning text or photographs. I understand that the editors will decide whether and when the edits become final. As author, I retain copyright ownership of the story and images.*
