    We take your family and personal relationships into consideration when determining whether your conversion is appropriate for your personal situation. Children under the age of 18 would normally be part of your conversion.

    1. A letter explaining your decision to convert to Judaism. The letter should detail the reasons that have brought you to choose to convert, any experience you have had of Jewish life up until now, books you have read or preparation you have already undertaken before applying to the programme. It should also include other information you want to share and that you think the Bet Din should know that may be relevant for your conversion - family relationships, health considerations, your preferred pronouns and ay special requests. 

    2. A current picture of yourself.

    3. A signed copy of the attestation below. You can copy and print the declaration below, sign it and scan or take a picture of it. Then either upload the scan with your application - or email the picture of the signed document to as at office@europeanmasortibetdin.org.

    By confirming below I attest to the fact that:

    1. I have been notified that by joining the conversion programme I am undertaking a programme of study that will prepare me for conversion to Judaism, but I understand that there is no guarantee that I will be converted to Judaism at the end of the programme. This remains entirely to the discretion of the Beit Din that will oversee the conversion.


    2. I understand that the Beth Din has the right to terminate my participation in the programme at any time.

    3. I understand that from the time I am accepted into the conversion programme at least one calendar year must elapse.

    4. I understand that the conversion will be carried out under the auspices of the European Masorti Bet Din. There is no guarantee that the conversion will be recognised by Orthodox authorities or any other Rabbinic authority.

    5. I understand that I will be expected to:

     

    a. Complete a recognised Conversion Course or Programme of Study approved by the Bet Din.

    b. Read books from the reading list

    c. Learn to read Hebrew

    d. Attend synagogue services regularly

    e. Practice Jewish customs and ceremonies


    6. (Men Only) I have been informed that before conversion I will be required to undergo circumcision or ‘Hatafat Dam’ as appropriate.

  • Thank you for registering with the Bet Din. The registration fee for the Bet Din is £135.00. You will be redirected to the payment page once you submit this form. In addition to the registration fee, there is also a Court Fee which is due when you make your final appointment with the Bet Din. Currently, the Court fee is £270.     1. A letter explaining your decision to convert your child to Judaism. You should provide details of the religious life of your family and your synagogue involvement. You should also state that you give parental consent to the conversion.

    2. A signed copy of the attestation below. The attestation needs to be signed by both parents. You can copy and print the declaration below, sign it and scan or take a picture of it. Then either upload the scan with your application - or email the picture of the signed document to as at office@europeanmasortibetdin.org.

    Adoption:

    In the case of an adoption, the letter should detail when and where the adoption took place, and you should include copies of legal documents that show that you have full custody of the child.

    The accompanying letter needs to be signed by both parents.

    Single Parents:

    If you are a single parent applying on behalf of your child, we need a separate letter from the other parent stating that he or she gives his/her consent to the conversion. If it is not possible to have both parents' consent, you must provide us with proof that you have sole custody of the child. We are not able to convert a child without the consent of all legal guardians.

    a. attending synagogue services regularly

    b. practising Jewish customs and ceremonies

    c. providing my child with a Jewish education


    4. (Boys Only) I have been informed that before conversion my child will be required to undergo circumcision or ‘Hatafat Dam’ as appropriate.

Please provide details of your Jewish heritage, any Jewish ancestors you have and details of any previous conversions in your family. Provide details of your Jewish upbringing, synagogue membership and any other information that will help us establish your Jewish status. It should also include other information you want to share and that you think the Bet Din should know that may be relevant for your conversion - family relationships, health considerations, your preferred pronouns and ay special requests.
