  • Notes:

Student Life requires 20+ hours of fieldwork per week for all internships, practicums, and capstones. [Note: The number of credit hours is based on the academic discipline at Warner University that requires the lowest amount of fieldwork hours per credit hour. Presently, Social Work is the discipline with the lowest amount of hours per credit hour (1 Credit Hour=35 hours of fieldwork in an internship, practicum or capstone). For example, a two-credit-hour internship in Social Work approximates to 70 hours of field work over the course of the entire semester. A sixteen-week semester would require 4 hours per week (70hrs/16wks=4.375). This student would not qualify for the chapel exemption.

  •  General Expectations and Reasons for Exemption

All traditional students (Residential & Commuter) must earn the required amount of credits, 21 for Residential and 16 for Commuter students for the semester. Students with extenuating circumstances may request a reduction for the semester. All exemptions are granted on a semester basis, only. Exemptions expire at the end of every semester and must be re-applied for each semester. Reasons for potential exemption include the following:

    Off-Campus Internships

Students who do not have an authorized Warner internship may be approved for reduction if, both the department chair and professor of their discipline is willing to sign off on the internship's rigor. These internships must require 20+ hours per week outside of class.
