While we'd love to host our annual race as we have in the past, due to school closures and social distancing guidelines, we have decided it will be best to host MTEF’s Red, White, and Blue Streak 5k and Fun Run virtually this year. 

How does a Virtual Run/Walk work?  

We encourage you to run or walk the 5k (3.1 miles) or the Fun Run (100 yards) between 12:00AM on May 17 and 11:59PM on May 31. This can be done wherever you are – on a treadmill; on a rails to trails path; or even the race course – it’s your choice! Then connect your experience and offer encouragement to other participants by posting on the Manheim Township Educational Foundation’s Facebook page utilizing the hashtag #MTEFVirtualRun. While we cannot share physical space, our hope is that we can still build community and promote healthy lifestyles online.

We aren’t charging a fee to participate in the race but if you would like to support MTEF’s mission to provide resources for innovative educational programs for all Manheim Township School District students – consider doing that here: I'd like to make a donation!

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

• Top M/F overall: medal & certificate, a 4 class pack from Orangetheory Fitness Lancaster, their choice of $25 Chick Fil A or Lancaster Escape Room gift card
• Top M/F 5k winners in each age category (14 & under/15-18/19-29/30-39/40-49/50-59/60-69/70+): medal & certificate
• All Fun Runners: certificate
• Most patriotic photo: certificate 
• Most creative finish line photo: certificate
• Best running scenery photo: certificate 
• Best four legged running buddy: certificate 

Once you have signed up, we will send you another form where you can upload your race time, and photo contest entries.  Don't forget to post them on Facebook as well and tag the @Manheim Township Educational Foundation and #MTEFVirtualRace!

Safety Waiver and Photo Release

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity.  I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained.  I also know that there will be traffic on the course and assume the risk for running in traffic.  I also assume any or all other risks associated with running or attending the race including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the affects of the weather and the condition of the roads, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.  Knowing these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry fee, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release and discharge the Manheim Township Educational Foundation, Manheim Township School District, any subcontractors it utilizes, all municipalities in which the race is held,  the race committee, volunteers, any and all sponsors including their agents, employees, assigns or anyone acting for on their behalf, or anyone else associated in any way with the race, from any or all claims or liability for death, personal injury or property damage of any kind of nature what so ever arising out of, or in the course of, my participation in this event(s). This waiver extends to all claims of every kind or nature what so ever, foreseen or unforeseen, known or unknown. By entering this race,  I am granting permission to MTEF to use any pictures or likenesses of me secured at the event in any way they see fit without review, restriction or compensation.   I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS WAIVER: (if under 18, legal guardian must sign)
