darlingdance and Washington Project for the Arts invites local female-identifying artists to participate in “KUVV” a multidisciplinary, collaborative performance exploring the relationship between home and the embodied familial lineage. Artists will collaborate with choreographer Hayley Cutler on 10-15 minute solo or small works that will come together to form a larger, evening-length presentation.
Artists are asked to respond to the following prompt:
How does your familial lineage live in your physical body today, and how does that contribute to your sense of home as it relates to your identity? Responses may be delivered via movement, spoken word, song, installation, etc.
Who Should Apply:
Performance artists and visual artists that work within a performance art context that are based in the larger DC region.
Successful applications will provide a video with your initial response to the prompt/any ideas for your work (can be in draft form) along with a written response that explains and supports your vision. Along with providing evidence of your professional artist career and qualifications (resume, CV, etc)
