The undersigned will conduct a thesis entitled “Tracing the journey of Chutney Music in the Indian Diaspora: Identity, cultural mashup and commodification”. Music for the diasporics act as an important marker of their ethnic identity that links the diaspora with the homeland. This survey is attempted to understand the connection of Indian diaspora with music especially the consumption of Chutney music.
