Friday Night Market
We are very excited to announce that, as part of our show theme ‘Our People, Our Province’, we have chosen the Southland Charity Hospital as our benefactor for the 2021 Southland A & P Show. This means that we will have a number of fundraising features of the show such as raffles, collection buckets and trade donations etc.
One of our new fundraising features for 2021 is our brand new Friday Night Market. Essentially – when we reflect on previous shows, we realise that we have an outstanding selection of delicious food, and amazing craft product – why not make the most of this and provide another exciting trading opportunity for our vendors.
So (at no extra charge, and not at all compulsory) – we would like to invite you to participate in our Friday Night Market, 5th March, 5pm – 8.30pm (approx.). Public entry will be by gold coin, all of which will be donated to the Southland Charity Hospital (SCH). Volunteers from the SCH will be working to gather donations, and selling raffle tickets etc (both at the night market and during the show).
The Southland A & P Association will partner with the Southland Charity Hospital to promote the night market and the Saturday show.
Groups such as XO Church will be running a mini-carnival and other family friendly fun, and we will have some fantastic entertainment running on our Food Court stage.
Once the drop off for Home Industries section entries closes at 5.30pm, public will only be able to access the carpark and Food Court/Crafters Market areas of the show – the rest of the showgrounds will be shut off.
We see the Friday Night Market as an opportunity to capture a slightly different crowd than we might see on show day.
If you wish to participate – there is no extra cost to you. You just get to benefit from another chance to trade Following the event, you may wish to donate a koha to help the A & P cover some of the running costs.
This market is not compulsory. We will absolutely accommodate any vendors who don’t wish to, or are unable to participate, but it does mean that non-participating craft and food vendors will be unable to set up after 4pm on Friday 5th March (the show grounds will be open during the week prior and from 6.30am on Saturday the 6th, set-up completed by 8.30am ready for trade at 9am). We will have onsite security on Friday night.
