Dear Parents and Caregivers,
This survey of 11 questions is from the Vermont-National Education Association. It is to help teachers and other school employees better support you and your children during the Covid-19 health emergency. We know these are difficult and uncertain times for you – parenting, supervising distance learning, and making ends meet – and for your children, who are cut off from friends, school, and their normal routines.
The information will help your teachers improve distance-learning practices, set reasonable school expectations of you and your children, identify obstacles to a family’s wellbeing, and reduce stress. It will also help us work with the legislature, governor and others to protect you and your family from the financial, medical, and economic losses this pandemic has caused for so many.
To protect people’s privacy, we are NOT asking for names or home addresses, only the county where you live.
Our biggest wish is for you to be safe, well, and secure. Please know that Vermont-NEA’s 13,000 public school teachers, administrative assistants, paraeducators, bus drivers, custodians and maintenance staff will support you in any way they can.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Don Tinney, President, Vermont-NEA
