BIKE SHED: UNLOCKED
Our annual Bike Shed London Show has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but the show must go on, so we’ve created Bike Shed: Unlocked. For the first time ever we are hosting a digital motorcycle show via our social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook and Instagram), and we want to feature you and your custom motorcycle!
All we need is a short, simple video of you with your bike. (Note: These videos are not expected to be professional by any means … iPhone or GoPro video is great!) Simply press record and tell us about yourself and your build. If you’re wondering what to say, try imagining that you’re out for a ride, and when you stop to refuel, someone approaches you to ask:
- Who are you, and what inspired this build?
- Are you a professional builder, or a shed builder?
- How did you start building/wrenching?
- What was your inspiration for your build?
- What are your favourite parts of the build, and what are most proud of?
- What do you want people to remember you and your bike for?
- What’s your next project?
- What does it sound like? Show us!
Note: Since lockdown has been slightly relaxed, if you'd like to include riding footage, you now can.
EXAMPLE:
Chris’ HD Sportster - https://youtu.be/z8aAp43ERkk
(Chris took the higher end approach and edited this example on Adobe Rush iPhone app...he had some time on his hands! But even if your video is a super simple one-shot clip, we’re really excited to see what you send in!)
TIPS AND TRICKS:
You can upload from both phone and desktopPlease title your video your name and bike name as follows:
Example: Dutch_Someren_Ducati_Monster. mov - not applicable if uploading from phone.
NOTE: email and WhatsApp will compress your video if sending between devices we recommend airdrop if on iPhone.
- Shoot landscape/horizontal; portrait doesn’t look good on YouTube!
- Shoot in a well-lit area, and avoid noisy environments.
- Be careful not to cover the microphone with your hand, and maintain a consistent distance from the camera to get the best audio.
- Show the bike from multiple angles, and if you mention a specific part on your bike, try to get a detail shot.
