Hello!
Thank you for your patience and for being willing to communicate via email. It is a lot less personal than I like for new clients, but has become necessary as the demand for the service usually fills my days from 8am-8pm. I like to set expectations in advance, so please read the information below.
Not Your Typical Groomer
-The only Certified Feline Master Groomer in NE IN (training focused on show-quality grooming).
-I do ongoing studies and have done several mentorships with various Feline Behavior Consultants/Trainers.
-C.F.M.G. + Feline Behavior Training/Modification = a service not offered anywhere else. I work toward desensitizing your cat to the grooming process.
-9 years in business cats only, 3,000+ cats groomed, recommended by several of Fort Wayne's top vets
-I specialize in kindness and patience.
-I often work with cats that other groomers and vets don't want to or can't work with.
-I rehabilitate cats that have been traumatized by well meaning dog groomers/owners.
-I introduce cats to grooming in a way that treats them as individuals.
-I do not use muzzles or forceful handling techniques.
-1st priority returning your cat's coat to a healthy state in a low stress way.
-2nd priority aesthetically perfect grooms with social media bragging rights. Humanity over vanity. Many cats get there eventually as a relationship is built.
Housecall Grooming
This is not an optional service. It really should be the only grooming service offered for cats and here's why:
-Grooming in a van = carriers to and from, sounds of generators, strange place, foreign smells
-Grooming is a salon = carriers, car rides, strange place, foreign smells, dogs barking, lots of extra noise from multiple dryers/workstations, cage style drying, sometimes multiple people restraining to get the job done and meet salon quotas
I bring Everything needed to groom including special low-decibel dryers, low-vibration/ low-decibel clippers, cat-safe shampoos, tools, cleaning supplies, towels, treats, toys, training tools, etc. The only thing needed from you is a place to groom your cat with an electrical outlet such as an open space in the living room, a small bathroom, or a utility room. (further instructions will be sent in a reminder email before your appointment.) I work on one cat from start to finish.
You can peek in and watch as much as you want. You will be given a hands on demonstration of the best tools and handling techniques for your individual cat's coat maintenance. Everything is cleaned up and carried out after the groom is complete. And your cat immediately gets to return to the comfort of their home.
Pricing
I do charge for travel. I will need a specific address to give you an exact quote.
- First Time Royal Treatment- $75 Includes Bath, Blow Dry & Comb out, Nails Trimmed, Eyes & Ears Cleaned. Anything more than a few tangles will be charged additionally for mat removal or pelt removal.
- First Time Mat Removal- $60 Includes Full Shave or Spot Shaving
- First Time Pelt Removal-$100 Pelts are Mats that have grown together and cover the entire body or most of the body. These require more time to remove as they can only be shaved off in one big piece (like a turtle shell) or two or three very large pieces and are very tight to the skin.
- First Time Lion Cut-$85 This is for a non-matted coat shaved into a full or modified lion cut. *Humanity over vanity. Perfect lines and smooth finish is not guaranteed on a first time lion cut*
- First Time Trimming- $30 Includes trimming the potty region and/or chest region for hygiene issues
- Nail Trim Only- $15/ 2nd cat+ $10
- Soft Paw Nail Caps- $20/ 2nd cat+ $15 While I offer the service, most cats do not like them and will work on chewing them off within a week or two. If your cat tolerates them, they will need to be removed no more than 8 weeks after application to trim the nails and reapply a fresh set.
First-time appointments are for cat clients new to A Natural Feline Friend. They are longer appointments including extra time to properly introduce myself to your cat and help them build positive associations with me, assess their temperament & grooming needs, and discuss tips & tools you can use to minimize the need for professional grooming in the future. Reduced pricing will be made available after the first appointment/assessment.
Payments
I accept cash, check, or credit card.
