  • Please use this form to request any of the following: withdrawal, suspension of study, resumption of study, change of programme, change of mode. This form is for use by students on all undergraduate or postgraduate taught programmes.
  • Change of Status Definitions

    Withdrawal: Please select this option when you feel that you can no longer continue in your current programme of studies with NTC. Please contact to the Registrar or Academic Dean prior to completing a withdrawal request.

    Suspension of Study: Students may request a break in studies for a minimum of 1 semester and a maximum of 1 year (12 months). This is only permitted where there are mitigating circumstances.

    Resumption of Study: This is a request to resume studies after a period of suspension. Where students have been on suspension for health reasons, there is a process in place to assess 'fitness to study' before resumption is approved. This is to ensure a students are in a position to continue studies safely.

    Change of Programme: Students should select this option to move from one programme pathway to another (eg. BA (Hons) in Theology to BA (Hons) in Theology (Practical Theology)), or to change programmes within the same level (eg. Diploma to BA).

    Change of Mode: This selection is for students to move from full time to part time or vice versa. Students on the MA (Part time) can use this option to request a move to the MA (Open Learning).

    Please select this option when you feel that you can no longer continue in your current programme of studies with NTC. Please contact to the Registrar or Academic Dean prior to completing a withdrawal request.

  • If a student officially withdraws from College in either semester the following refunds will be allowed:  

    • for in-country international students who withdraw before the start of the course the first semester’s fees paid in advance are refunded in full once the UK Border Agency has been informed.  The College is required to inform the UK Border Agency if an international student withdraws or does not take up their place at the College.
    • for those who withdraw within the first two weeks of the first semester a full tuition credit is applied for that semester. The College is required to inform the Border and Immigration Agency if an international student withdraws from the College.
    • after the last day for Registration Revision (published in the College calendar) students will remain liable for the cost of the full semester’s tuition, facility fees and University fees or other associated course fee costs incurred in their initial registration. 

    In addition students cannot receive an academic transcript of any completed studies if fees remain outstanding.

  • In line with the University of Manchester, NTC has a process to work with students returning from suspension to evaluate 'fitness to study'. This ensures all students are in a position to thrive in their studies and to be offered any necessary support. The Academic Office team will arrange an interview time with returning students to discuss their return.
