  • Application Information: 

    The applicaton is only open to California CTE teachers.

     

    Based on the application process and the qualifications of applicants, one Sector Community of Practice (SCoP) Lead will be selected for each industry sector.  

    All current California CTE teachers that have CTE Online accounts are eligible to apply.

    Information about the CTE Online Sector Community of Practice Leads

    Objectives:

    • Answer questions and provide resources and regular communication to the members of the CTE Online Sector Community group.
    • Provide feedback to CTE Online about about the platform and curriculum tools.
    • Provide feedback to CTE Online about curriculum needs within the industry sectors.
    • Advance teachers in the area of professional growth.

    Professional Growth Opportunities to Benefit Teachers:

    • SCop Leads will go through a virtual training to learn about CTE Online, and tools within CTE Online.
    • SCop Leads share information with other teachers in their sector via mass communications, social media and workshops.
    • SCoP Leads are recognized in their respective sector as content experts and often referred to other teachers as sources of information.

    Requirements of SCoP Leads

    1. Send a monthly communicaton via CTE Online email to their respective sector group.
    2. Post a comment each month in their respective sector group
    3. Be a positive representation of CTE Online.
    4. Participate in the intial training and quarterly calls.
    5. Requirements are not limited to this list.  

    Responsiblities/Expectations of SCoP Leads:

    1. If attending a workshop, conference or convention that CTE Online is presenting at, contribute to the presentation when possible.
    2. Utilize social media to share CTE Online lessons, projects and course outlines. 
    3. Serve as a resource to teachers in the respective sector by sharing about CTE Online at sector specific, meetings, workshops and conferences when possible.
    4. Responsiblities are not limited to this list. There may be opportunities to participate in other activities as they are available.

    Term:

    • Yearly terms: From time accepted into the program (Approximately August) until June 30th.
    • Any current SCoP lead may reapply if interested in continuing and is in good standing (completed required tasks for the program based on opportunities and availability).

     Stipend:

    • A small annual stipend is paid to SCoP leads that complete all required activities.

     Training:

    • Required to participate in an intial training on the platform and learn the role of SCoP leads.
    • Quarterly check-in calls will be held with leads to share information, answer questions and provide feedback.

By serving as a Sector Community of Practice lead for CTE Online, I will provide support and feedback based on my experiences for the betterment of the platform.
