The mentorship program is now accepting applications to be a mentor during your junior or senior year, being the 2020-2021 academic school year. Now what is a mentor? A mentor is a person who helps someone else grow and develop their skills. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to guide incoming freshman and help ease their transition to high school. While takig on this responsibility, it is crucial that you have patience, determination, and the right drive in order to facilitate your mentees learning. Now, being a mentor can be overwhelming. However, the Mentor Leadership Program emphasizes the concept that as long as you lead someone with good intentions, you will not lead anyone in the wrong direction. We hope that as you become a mentor, you learn how to communicate with others more effectively and learn more about yourself. We want you to be part of this community that supports one another since we are the only student-led organization that supports other students at DMHS. **Please keep in mind that this is a specialty home room so on a normal school schedule you would be meeting with your mentee from 8:00-8:30am**
