  • Who wants to receive a fun filled envelope from me?

Let's send each other art back and forth! Each time we receive it, let's change it up: color it in, paint over it, cut it up, soak it, dye it, whatever you are inspired to do! Then, send it back for more.

Let's get creative together! What will become of the original piece?

Parents, this is a special opportunity for your child to play with a working artist. It's a chance to push his/her artistic boundaries.  It will encourage them to think outside the box, to let go of any attachments they have around their art, learn about collaborating and make new discoveries.

This activity is perfect for kids who love to make stuff. Its a great creative summer activity if you might be looking for imaginative ways to engage.

Plus, FUN MAIL. Whose day doesn't brighten with a little fun mail?!

  •  HOW IT WORKS

    Sign up for Rounds.

On the first Round, I initiate correspondence by sending an envelope with art and instructions to your child.

In each subsequent Round, he/she will alter the art and send it back to me. I'll then collaborate on it and send it back. You will always end up with the artwork.

You may sign up for 1 Round or purchase a bundle of Rounds.

The more we get to pass back and forth, the deeper we can go and the more the art will evolve.

Once you sign up, you will receive a pdf with all the necessary details.

PS: Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Friends: Consider gifting this fun, enriching experience to the young artist you love and watch their creativity expand.

Sound like something your child will enjoy?

    SIGN 'EM UP!

Please note, while I would love to work with each and every artist, my schedule may not allow for that. Registration will be first come first served and capped when I've reached my max. Thanks for understanding!

  • TESTIMONY

"My daughter loved being Jennifer's art pen pal! The shared drawings - when Jennifer added to my daughter's art - brought the biggest smiles, making her feel like a real artist. Jennifer engages and communicates with kids on their level, bringing a sense of empowerment and joy. We can't recommend this enough!" -Susan

"This was so fun! I would get so excited when I saw her letters come in the mail. I've saved all of the artwork we did together." - Maggie age 10

"We will be waiting at our mailbox everyday now! Huck wants to 'penpal' everyone he knows, his teacher, his cousins, his friends! You have made this summer a great one!" - Dana

  • Above are some samples of the collaborations with kids. When they send me art, I add to it and I might send some encouraging prompts, such as...

    • What parts do you find interesting? Perhaps cut those parts out...
    • What tools do you have that could change it up?
    • Consider cutting it and glueing in back together in a different way.
    • What if you painted over parts of it?
    • Can you fold it in an interesting shape? What does that inspire you to do next?

Each piece and process is completely unique as the idea is to react to what is provided. I anticipate spontaneity, organic evolution and most likely fun surprises involved!

    Sounds fun...

    LET'S DO IT!

I love to create in the moment. From painting, drawing & doodling, to writing, singing & drumming, my art is spontaneous, playful and full of vibrant energy.

My primarily abstract, animal & floral paintings consist of free flow text, bright color fields, and energetic doodling. I'm inspired by funky color combinations, children’s art, graffiti and abstract expressionism.

I have taught kids of all ages, internationally, including a summer artist residency at the Portland Children's Museum and a month long one at the ISF Academy in Hong Kong where I worked with over 400 elementary students to create murals in their art wing.

I also teach adults in small workshop settings nationwide and online platforms such as Creativebug.

  • Children inspire me and I love working with young people of all ages (teens are cool too!) I hope to get to collaborate with you... so...

    FAQs

I have more than one kid, what's the best way for them to participate?

If you have multiple children and would like them to participate together, that is fine! I will send one piece of art and address the envelope to all of them. If you would like for each one to receive their own individualized mail, please sign them up separately.

I'm an adult and I want to be your pen pal, can I?

At the moment this is an experience I am offering to young artists. I will consider doing something similar with adults if there is interest, so please let me know if you'd like to be my art pen pal! e-mail me
