Runoff occurs naturally. However, if the natural topography is change, this can caused runoff to happen in excess. This can cause flooding, and increased erosion in natural areas. Imperious surfaces, like concrete and pavements, do not allow water to drain into the ground and can cause flooding in urban areas where they are more likely to pick up pollutants. It is our job to make sure we do our part to keep our watersheds clean!
