  • Alberta Craft Council's 2020 Craft Collaborations

    Phase 1: Expression of Interest. We invite you to participate in an exciting Alberta Craft Council (ACC) fundraising online auction slated for September 2020, Alberta's Month of the Artist. Alberta based artists may apply as an existing duo, or as an adventurous individual to be matched with another ACC member artist. And as an added bonus, successful applicants will have access to some special professional development opportunities with the ACC.  Win, Win, Win! Works will be displayed publicly during the month of September and sold online as a part of a special Alberta Craft Council fundraiser. Artists will receive 50% of the retail value of items sold with additional proceeds going towards Alberta Craft Council. We know your creativity and skills will generate some enviable collectible results and we can’t wait to see what you create and to show it off!
  • Things to consider prior to applying

    This call is open to Alberta-based artists who are current members of the Alberta Craft Council. 

    The Alberta Craft Council will facilitate initial contact between matched artists who are applying as Individuals, and it will be up to artists to continue conversations and creative exchange on the path the collaboration will take throughout the summer.

    Applying as a existing Duo? Please submit one application together. Only one of you is required to be a current ACC member, and we will consider Alberta-based partner collaborators from outside of the craft sector.

    Works will be displayed publicly during the month of September and sold online as a part of a special Alberta Craft Council fundraiser. Artists will receive 50% of the retail value of items sold with additional proceeds going towards Alberta Craft Council. (If artist elect to donate their portion to the Alberta Craft Council a tax receipt will be issued.)

    Retail prices for Individual applicants is for your contribution only. For Duo applicants, list the approximate combined retail value for both of you. If you are considering creating work above $1000 in value, please contact the ACC prior to applying

    Please consider shipping costs when developing retail prices. The Alberta Craft Council is not able to cover any related shipping costs during the collaboration but can act as a drop off/pick up point during collaboration.  

    Both Edmonton and Calgary ACC locations may also be used as drop off points for collaborative work. Final delivery must be made by August 15 to either location

    You will be asked to upload images of relevant work, images files must be between 150KB -1.5MB in size and should ideally be in jpg format
