CORE PET SITTER / DOG WALKER

Our Core Pet Sitters / Dog Walkers make up the foundation of our pet care team. Core team members are assigned to a designated service territory and maintain consistent weekly availability.

We are currently hiring for both AM and PM Core positions.

AM Shift

* Regular Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday — 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
* Extended Coverage Days: Sunday & Monday — available 7:00 AM–9:00 PM
* Days Off: Friday & Saturday

PM Shift

* Regular Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday — 1:00 PM–9:00 PM
* Extended Coverage Days: Friday & Saturday — available 7:00 AM–9:00 PM
* Days Off: Sunday & Monday

Extended Coverage Days: Being available from 7:00 AM–9:00 PM does not mean you will work continuously for 14 hours. Visits are scheduled throughout the day based on client bookings, with breaks between visits depending on your route.

Core Sitters maintain consistent weekly availability for their assigned schedule. Actual visits and hours worked vary based on client bookings and demand. New Core Sitters start gradually during training and build their client route over time, with a goal of approximately 20–30+ hours per week in higher-demand territories.

Providence Territory – AM & PM Shifts
Providence, with occasional travel to East Providence, Pawtucket and bordering areas of Cranston.

Warwick / Cranston Territory – AM & PM Shifts
Warwick and Cranston, with occasional travel to West Warwick and bordering areas of Providence.

Coventry / West Warwick / West Greenwich Territory – AM & PM Shifts
Coventry, West Warwick and West Greenwich, with occasional travel to bordering service areas.

East Greenwich / North Kingstown Territory – AM & PM Shifts
East Greenwich and North Kingstown, with occasional travel to bordering areas of Warwick.

Core Sitters are assigned to a primary territory to help keep routes localized. Occasional travel into neighboring service areas may be required based on client and coverage needs.

SUPPLEMENTAL / FILL-IN PET SITTER & DOG WALKER

Unable to commit to a Core schedule? We also hire Supplemental / Fill-In Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers to provide additional coverage alongside our Core team.

Locations Available: Providence, Cranston, Warwick, East Greenwich/North Kingstown & Coventry/West Warwick RI

NOTE: This position requires traveling from one clients house to the next.

* Weekday mornings: Monday-Friday 1-2 hours of availability between the hours of 7-10am

* Weekday afternoons/mid-days: Monday-Friday 2-3+ hours of availability between the hours of 11-3pm

* Weekday evenings: Monday-Friday 4-6pm

* Weekday nights: Monday-Friday 7-9pm

* Weekends: Saturday & Sunday; Mornings 7-10am, Afternoons: 11-3pm, Evenings 4-6pm, Nights 7-9pm

* Weekends plus one or more consistent weekdays

OVERNIGHT PET SITTING

Overnight pet sitting (8:00 PM–5:00 AM) may be added to a Core or Supplemental Pet Sitter / Dog Walker position.

We do not typically hire for overnight-only positions. Applicants primarily interested in overnights must also be available to take on complete pet-sitting reservations, including the associated daytime visits.

W-2 EMPLOYEE POSITION

Our Pet Sitters / Dog Walkers are W-2 employees, not independent contractors.

Benefits include paid training and meetings, mileage/travel compensation, 100% of tips, paid certifications and continuing education, Pet First Aid certification reimbursement, employee discounts and opportunities for advancement.

Furry Fellas provides Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance and pays the employer portion of Social Security and Medicare taxes.

Please Note; We set our routes up so sitters/walkers are traveling within a 10-15mins between a house. The average pet sitting visit length is ~30mins. We offer 15mins, 20mins, 30mins, 45mins, 60mins and hourly sitting options to our clients.

Compensation & Benefits

Per-Visit Pay + Tips + Mileage

This is a W-2 employee position. Pet Care Professionals are paid per visit, with rates based on visit length, experience and qualifications:

* 15-minute visits: $9.00
* 20-minute visits: $10.00
* 30-minute visits: $10.50
* 45-minute visits: $12.00–$13.50
* 60-minute visits: $16.00–$18.00

Based on actual payroll records, established Pet Care Professionals average approximately $18–$20+/hour in total compensation, including per-visit pay, mileage reimbursement and gratuities. Actual earnings vary based on visit length and mix, route density, mileage, tips and other factors.

Certified Veterinary Technicians, Certified Dog Trainers and Fear Free Certified Professionals receive +$1/hour equivalent, applied to the per-visit pay rate.

Requirements:

Prior professional animal experience (besides with your own pets); vet tech, shelter, kennel, rescue or volunteer experience (or other equivalent)
Pet CPR/First Aid Certification

Ideal candidate would be looking to continue in position for 1+ years
