These activities form part of your learning process and have been designed as practice opportunities for you to apply the knowledge you have learned and the skills you have gained.

  • Instructions for the Student

  • Each activity has specific instructions. Most Checkpoint activities will be completed during allocated class time but there may be some Checkpoint activities which you will be required to complete outside of classroom hours (i.e. research)

    Your Trainer/Assessor will:

    • advise you when each activity is to be completed

    • provide all materials needed to complete each of the activities. If you are absent during a class when a hands-on/practical Checkpoint activity is conducted, you will need to speak with your Trainer/Assessor and arrange a time to complete this. In addition, the Checkpoint activities also assist your Trainer/Assessor by checking your understanding of the training already delivered. Your Trainer/Assessor is then able to provide you with feedback on any areas where you may need improvement.

    • Activities conducted in the virtual classroom are collaborative and discussion and interaction with fellow students is encouraged

    • When you have completed the activities for each section, submit this assessment to your Trainer/Assessor so they can record that you have satisfactorily completed this part of your training and provide you with appropriate feedback where required.

    OHS considerations

All practical activities must be performed without risk to yourself, danger to others or damage to property, land or equipment. You must abide by all instructions and directions as they relate to the checkpoint activities. Ensure that you have the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) before starting any practical activities.
