BUDGET

The Birgit Baldwin Fellowship in Scandinavian Studies provides $28,000 toward the recipient’s travel, research, and living expenses. Please estimate your expenses as accurately as possible, demonstrating how you foresee using the fellowship funds. At mid-point and at the end of the fellowship period, recipients will be asked to submit, along with a progress report, a report showing how the funds were used. Fellowship funds will be disbursed in two checks.

Applicants should submit a dissertation proposal that includes research plans and evidence of competency. The successful applicant will demonstrate the significance of the subject, the need to work in Scandinavia (the Nordic region), and the feasibility of accomplishing the objectives of the research plans. Please include a one-and-a-half to two-page bibliography illustrative of the classic—as well as the most current—sources relevant to your project.*
