The Cotillion Board is still moving forward with the application process during these uncertain times, so that we may prepare Cotillion for next season. We however, do not know when this will be. We will request payment from members when we are certain the Cotillion season will occur. Due to possible large group restrictions, we won't know the number of applicants that we will be aloud to accept. We will update applicants as soon as the information becomes available.
Online registration is currently open and will remain open until we are certain when the dances will begin.
Ridgecrest students are invited to apply for membership to the Ridgecrest Cotillion, a popular middle school activity and a tradition on the Peninsula. Each year, there are typically eight semi-formal/costume dances with music, decorations, refreshments, and optional costumes. This year is still unknown. Instruction is provided for basic dance steps, and students receive an education in social graces. The year culminates with a Mother/Son - Father/Daughter dance to which one parent is invited (mother and son or father and daughter).
Due to possibility of limiting large gatherings, Cotillion membership may be even more limited in class size, but an effort will be made to maintain an even boy/girl ratio. Early application submittal is strongly recommended. Completed applications will be prioritized based on the date submitted.
Due to the current physical distancing mandate, we will be following district guidelines for school activities. The Cotillion Board is still moving forward with the application process so that we may prepare Cotillion for the season. We will request payment from members when we are certain the Cotillion season will occur. We will email members about how to submit payment at that time. The membership cost will be determined once dances are confirmed. We reserve the right to change this amount based on any changes that are necessary based on the district requirements or any necessary changes to the cotillion season.
The Cotillion membership will be confirmed once your application has been summitted.
The Wednesday, September 2, 2020 meeting has been cancelled
There will be a mandatory parent-child orientation for all new participants. This includes all new incoming 6th graders and any new 7th and 8th graders. A date has not been set, but when we know, we will inform you of the date and whether it will be via Zoom or in person. This orientation is optional for returning members.
****Please ignore this for now: You can attend your choice of sessions at either 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. At this meeting, dress code questions will be addressed and one pair of gloves (free of charge to all new students) will be distributed. Additional gloves will be available for purchase for $7.00 at this time as well.

We welcome parent volunteers and chaperone's for each dance. This will be through SignUp Genius and will be based on a first come-first serve sign up basis. Sign ups will start at a later date. You will recieve an email with the link to SignUp Genius. Many parents are thrilled to volunteer to be a chaperone, so please only sign up for 1 chaperone spot per year. There may be another opportunity throughout the year to chaperone due to cancellations.
Another way to volunteer, is to join the Cotillion Board. We have several spots available for this coming season. All who are interested will receive an email with more information.
