The 2020 Association for Creative Industries (AFCI) Awards Committee is requesting submissions from industry members for nominees that will be considered for the following:
Hall of Fame: The Hall of Fame honor is presented to individuals for extraordinary contributions leading to the successes and growth of their organization(s) and our industry as a whole. In order to be eligible, nominees must no longer be actively involved in the Association, industry, retired or deceased. The candidate(s) should have accomplishments such as:
- Extensive experience in the industry
- Product innovation or marketing introductions
- Manufacturing process innovation, which significantly improved the process or product
- Service in Education and the progression and evolution of the role of the Designer Category
- Service on the AFCI, CHA or HIA Board of Directors, or in other important capacities in or related to the creative industry
- A record of integrity and respect in the industry
- A prominent role in:
- Advocating public awareness and appreciation of the importance of crafts
- Advocating public awareness of the industry as a significant and responsible member of the business community
- No current voting member of the AFCI Board of Directors, including those in positions of Chairman and Chairman Elect, may be nominated for induction into the Hall of Fame during their board tenure
Meritorious Award of Honor: The single highest award of recognition that AFCI can bestow upon an individual member, past or present. This award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the AFCI. Previous recipients have been those who have served the organization on the Board of Directors, or in another capacity, for a number of years. Only one award can be presented annually.
Industry Achievement Award: This recognition is for an individual, group, company or company employee that made a significant contribution to the growth and vitality of the craft and hobby industry as a whole. Previous recipients have served the industry in their roles as corporate or organizational leaders. Only one award will be presented annually.
Special Recognition Award(s): This award is presented to an individual, a group and/or company for their extraordinary contribution in an activity that showcases the craft and hobby industry in a positive way. Previous recipients have served the greater community through their contributions of time, energy, funds, materials and services. Award recipient(s) need not be a member(s) of the Association. More than one award can be presented annually.
