AKC Golden retriever Puppy Application
Owning a dog is a lifetime commitment. They are a member of the family and are not to be taken in lightly. We want to get to know you so we can see if we are the family breeder for you. By reading & completing our application, we get to know you and what you are looking for.

At first glance, you might thing "sheesh, this is a little long - are all these questions really necessary?" Yes, it is. If you wont take 30 minutes out of your day to read & fill out a questioner for the dog you want so badly.. Will you take love & care for your golden for the next 10-12 years?

Please, Ask yourself "what do I want out of my puppy/dog? What are my intentions? Am I ready to bring another family member into my home ? Do I have the time to commit to the training, exercise & love a large breed dog needs?
Is this an impulsive decision? Is my home & yard fit for a large breed dog? Do I have room on my sofa/bed for a large dog to cuddle? Do I have the financial means for vet care? Do you have enough time & love for this beautiful dog.? Have I done my research & know everything there is to know about the breed? Is this a good decision for my family.

Despite the sweet, calm, intelligent nature that is the hallmark of the breed. Just like humans, each golden retriever has their own personality & character. Though hard-wired with a good disposition, like all dogs the Golden must be well-raised and well-trained to make the most of his heritage.. it will be up to you to mold your new puppy into the golden retriever you saw that made you fall in love with the breed (:

Like every dog, the Golden needs early socialization — exposure to many different people, sights, sounds, and experiences — when they're young. Socialization helps ensure that your Golden puppy grows up to be a well-rounded family member.

I have already started with the early socialization. With 3 kiddos, I do not have a quiet home & they are in the mix of all the chaos. Having 6 acres of land & a creek to explore they have had alot of sites, smells & 4 adult goldens to look up too.. They are Living the puppy life! (: I have started early training, they are all sitting on command. They will sit on command and eagerly wait for instructions. They will also come when called. These puppies are not barkers..I do though, have some mouthy pups- who love to nibble! Just like all puppies.. expecially "soft mouthed dogs" like the Golden are big teethers & chewers.. so alot of good quality bones & toys in your future. Remember- a bored dog is a destructive dog!. I own both Mom & Dad as well as "aunt&Uncle" so both parents are here for you to meet & imagine what your new family member will look like all grown up!

These pups will go quickly. I am located in Athens tx. (East Texas) 20 minutes from Tyler tx. 1 hour from Dallas Tx. once you submit your application I will review it & will get back to you promptly.

Every family is different, and there are no right or wrong answers. We know many families have two working adults and we don't expect anyone to be a superhero and quit a day job just to be able to take home a puppy.

Every puppy family has different needs, and this application helps us identify who needs what information and what homes might make the best fit.

If you're a veteran golden retriever owner, we don't want to waste your time regaling things you already know; by the same token, if this is your first puppy or first golden, we want to make sure you leave prepared for what life with a puppy may bring. So again, thank you!
ADOPTION FEE & WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY PUPPY?

. Your puppy will come with AKC registration papers, which include fifteen hundred dollars of Akc insurance! Each puppy has already gotten their 1st set of shots. They have also been microchipped- you will receive the papers & necessary information needed to register your dogs microchip under your name. They have had their 1st puppy wellness check & all had a clean bill of health. They have each been dewormed at 2, 4 & 6 weeks old. They have also each been treated with a flea prevention. Each puppy will come with a record booklet that will state each individual treatment & the date given.. Each puppy will be freshly washed & will have their nails clipped before pick up. Each pup will get a blanket that smells like their mother to make the transition easier for them. Each puppy will have a rehoming fee of $ 1,500. About Puppy's New Family
This is where we find out a little more about the puppy's new home and family. Please remember in most cases there is no "right" or "wrong" answer. This is just a way to get to know you!

Personal example : I have lived in my prior home for over 10 years. Last September we relocated to Athens tx- purchased 6 acres & a creek with intentions of giving our children & goldens a better upbringing.
What is the size of your backyard ? Is your backyard fenced ? *
How many adults & children live in your home ?
We have 2 adults, 3 children under the age of 7.
Are all the adults in your home in agreement with the purchase & responsibility of a golden retriever?
Are you aware that golden retrievers have an average life span of about 11-12 years? & This cute & fluffy puppy is going to grow into a large breed dog .
How will your golden be trained? Do you have training experience? What are your training goals ? *
Are you going to crate train your golden retriever? How many hours each day? Why, or why not?*
To crate train means to put your animal in a crate (cage) for a duration of time. Some owners choose to crate their animal during working or sleeping hours .
Where will your golden spend most of their time? Will your golden be an inside or outside dog ? *
Personal example: our 4 goldens are both! They have free access to come inside or outside as they please. Each night they come in to sleep, and if we are not home- they come inside. That is based on our schedules & the weather & their moods.
Where is your golden going to sleep ? *
Personal example : all 4 sleep where ever they please ! Usually i will have 1 or two on our bed. The others find a cold spot on the floor, or will curl up on the couch. Sometimes I will kick my husband out of bed, because my goldens can cuddle way better ! :p
How many hours will the puppy be alone each day ? When no one is home where will your dog be ? *
Example : I am a stay at home mother & someone is usually home. (situational) if no one is home the dogs usually come inside.
Is this puppy being purchased as a surprise or gift for anyone?
What are your intentions with your golden? Tell me about your Ideal golden ? *
Personal example : I wanted a golden to be our family dog. To come with us on walk & trips to the park/lake. To take family vacations and watch pounce in the snow/ocean. To come play & cuddle but also calm enough to lay at my feet and relax in the moment .
How active is your family? Would you include your golden in daily activities?*
Personal example : we were alot more active last year .. but Everytime we go to the lake or camping, we take the dogs. When i take my daughters to school i will usually take 1 dog with me & we rotate that way for car rides. The goldens love to follow us when we ride fourwheelers. They go swimming at the creek daily. Every evening we go outside- ny husband plays fetch with glowing balls. The goldens are involved in every activity at our house!

Arrangements can be made in advance for certain circumstances.
Golden's require moderate grooming. They do shed & will shed their "winter coat" each year. Like any other dog their nails grow. If they are running and not kept trimmed can split and become painful. Are you willing to maintain their grooming needs?*

What to expect
Completing this application is a step in the process to acquiring a puppy from Tatiana Lindsey, but it does not guarantee I'll get a puppy from this or any future litter. While it's unlikely, the breeder reserves the right to refuse any placement at any time.

If this application is approved, you'll be notified promptly and you may come & pick out your puppy in person in Athens TX. 2 males are available at this moment. The purchase amount of $1,500 will need to be paid in full upon pick up of your new puppy. First come first serve . If you you wish to put a deposit to reserve a spot for A puppy you may, but not required.. deposits are non-refundable.

We cannot hold puppies for extended times; it is critical for their social development that the litter departs within a reasonable timeframe.

We love our goldens & only want them to thrive in their new loving homes.
