HAVE YOU BEEN AFFECTED BY RECENT FLOODING?
Dow Employee Assistance Fund Application
Dow has established the Dow Employee Assistance Fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation (MACF) for current, active employees of Dow and eligible retirees who have suffered an emergency hardship as a direct effect from flooding in the Great Lakes Bay Region in May 2020.
Eligibility:
Must be an active Dow employee at the time of the flooding and at the time of this application who is not (a) a board member of the Midland Area Community Foundation, (b) on the Dow Employee Assistance Fund Review Committee, or (c) an officer, director, or senior executive of Dow.
Additionally, retirees of Dow, Dow Corning Corporation and retirees from a subsidiary acquired through any other merger or acquisition are eligible if the retirement date is later than the official date of the acquisition. This includes UCC and Rohm and Haas. Eligible retirees may not be (a) a board member of the Midland Area Community Foundation, (b) on the Dow Employee Assistance Fund Review Committee, or (c) an officer, director, or senior executive of Dow.
One application per household will be accepted.
Intent:
The Dow Employee Assistance Fund is a program to help employees and retirees cope with unexpected hardships that place undue financial stress on them and their families as a result of the flood not compensated by insurance or otherwise.
The grants are not intended to indemnify all flood-related losses or to reimburse the cost of nonessential, luxury, or decorative items and services.
Review and Notification:
Dow is not administering the approval or dispersion of the grants. This fund is administered by MACF.
An independent committee established by MACF will review applications daily (beginning May 26, 2020), determine eligibility and notify grant recipients within 48 hours of application review.
Distribution:
Awards are payable via a $500 gift card from the Dow Employee Assistance Fund at MACF and will be disbursed via employee and retiree pickup. Location will be shared in notification to grant recipients.
