WALK-THROUGH
The customer or his/her representative must be present during the move and final “walk-through.”
PAYMENTS
Mighty Men Movers MS accepts cash, check or credit card. A 3% convenience fee will be charged on credit card payments.
For local moves, you must pay in full at completion of your job.
LONG-DISTANCE MOVES
A 50% payment is due once the truck has been loaded. A cash, money order/cashier’s check or credit card payment is due at the time of delivery for any balance due on long-distance moves. If you wish to pay using a credit or debit card you must inform us prior to your delivery and make appropriate arrangements with our office. We charge 3% convenience fee for this service.
SIMULATED WOOD & PRESSED BOARD ITEMS
Simulated wood products and pressed board have poor structural integrity, which does not lend itself to moving or repair. Mighty Men Movers MS will move these items carefully but cannot be responsible for damage of simulated wood or pressed board furniture. These items are excluded from any and all moving insurance coverage.
DELAYS
Unforeseeable delays, such as traffic accidents, slow traffic during peak driving hours and inclement weather, may delay the arrival of Mighty Men Movers MS. Every effort will be made to arrive on time.
PRE-MOVE PREPARATION
The more prepared you are the more efficient we can be and the quicker the job can be completed. Make sure all boxes are closed and taped and that all loose items are packed; this will save time on moving day.
Mighty Men Movers MS cannot move live plants and pets.
Please make sure you have all the following items removed and placed in your vehicle or a secure & locked area: All medications, checks, passports, documents, precious stones, jewelry, cash, coins, expensive china & glassware, credit cards, firearms, statuary, flammables, stocks & bonds, furs, fine art, collectibles, computers, laptops, gaming consoles and games or other similar valuables. Mighty Men Movers MS cannot be held responsible for the handling and transport of these expensive items.
Mighty Men Movers MS will not move flammables, combustibles or hazardous material due to safety laws and regulations.
TVs: These are susceptible to damage from extreme temperatures, slight bumps and altitude changes. The original packaging is the best. In any case, please note that in the absence of physical evidence of external damage or negligence (visible damage) we are not responsible for TVs functioning after delivery. If you are packing yourself, televisions and any other breakable items must be properly packed in a box with proper padding.
For safety reasons and their protection, small children and pets must be out of work area.
DAMAGE CLAIMS
Any damage claims must be submitted in writing to Mighty Men Movers MS within 14 days of your move. Unless payment is made in full as is due, we are not required to answer or process a claim. Please do not assume you may deduct the money from the final bill to compensate yourself in the event of damage; this is illegal.
Mighty Men Movers MS participates in a neutral arbitration program designed to give neither the carrier nor the shipper any special advantage. If a dispute arises between the carrier and the shipper, arbitration may be a mutually beneficial alternative to help resolve the dispute if you are not satisfied with a resolution offered. The arbitration is conducted by a neutral third-party organization. To request a form, email the United States Movers Association, email usmainfo@usmoving.com.
CANCELLATIONS
If you cancel your move with less than 48 hours’ notice, you will be charged a $50 nonrefundable cancellation fee. If you reschedule for another day, the manager may waive the fee at his discretion. The fee compensates us for work lost should you not move as scheduled. If we send a crew to your location and you are not able to move, the cancellation fee charged will be based on the number of men and distance travelled.
ESTIMATES
Moving estimates are based on the information you provided and our experience and expertise. This is only an estimate; actual time may vary. The actual time can vary due to lack of preparation, poor access at job site, or additional items to be moved not originally accounted for in the bid. Job cost is directly correlated to access and quantity of household goods to be moved. We do our best to accurately estimate the cost of your move but due to variables out of our control, Mighty Men Movers MS does not guarantee completion time. Due to scheduling constraints or other issues, Mighty Men Movers MS reserves the right to send more or less personnel depending on availability and need. Mighty Men Movers MS has a 3-hour minimum on bookings.
SELF-STORAGE & LOAD-ONLY MOVES
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide padding (blankets, thick towels, padded paper, etc.) to protect their goods in storage or when the customer is handling transport.
HOW TO SAVE MONEY
Make sure all items are properly and safely packaged. Move delicate items in your car. Disassemble your furniture before we arrive. Be as clear as possible with your directions to our crew.
EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY
Mighty Men Movers MS follows federal guidelines on the limits of liability. Liability for lost or damaged items is limited to $0.60 per pound per article. The customer has the option of purchasing additional insurance ahead of moving day. You may wish to purchase Full Value Protection Insurance to more fully protect your goods. Additional coverage may be purchased through Baker International Moving Insurance Worldwide, 1-800-356-0099, www.bakerintl.com, for a quote and to get any questions you might have answered. You will need Mighty Men Movers MS’ BAKER ID and an estimated weight of your household goods. Note that a full 26-foot box truck can hold 9,010 pounds of furniture. The condition of any item(s) boxed by customer and not inspected prior to move is not insured by Mighty Men Movers MS and is the responsibility of the customer.
Mighty Men Movers MS shall in no way be responsible for the working condition of electronic equipment, grandfather clocks, or any other piece of mechanical equipment.
Mighty Men Movers MS reserves the right to repair or replace any damaged item(s).
Mighty Men Movers MS may use dollies to facilitate removal or placement of heavier items. The crew will be as careful as possible, but damage that may result to soft floors, such as, but not limited to, indentation, scuff marks, etc., are not the responsibility of Mighty Men Movers MS. The customer is responsible for covering floors before the move begins should the customer deem this as necessary.
Mighty Men Movers MS shall not be responsible for damage to waterbeds or any subsequent damage.
Mighty Men Movers MS assumes no liability or responsibility for any items and cargo placed in the customer's own vehicle or in rental trucks secured and driven by the customer.
Mighty Men Movers MS crew members are not trained in plumbing and electrical services. Crew members may connect electrical washers and dryers upon request. You or your representative must check or accept any plumbing connections. Any assistance we give is as a courtesy only. Water and drain connections are the responsibility of the customer.
Mighty Men Movers MS cannot be responsible for dents or scratches on major appliances. These appliances are covered by a thin metal that can be easily dented and scratched.
Liability is limited to $100 for damage to walls, doors and painted surfaces.
