The Women’s Energy Network of South Texas (WEN-ST) is committed to supporting female college students who aspire to careers in energy, helping to fuel the industry’s need for top talent in the future.
In its commitment to support the energy industry success and the need for future top talent, the women’s Energy Network of South Texas is pleased to grant three (3) $1,500 one-time awards to exemplary female students who aspire and already display an interest in a career in the energy market.
Scholarship Eligibility
Eligible applicants must be female, a current college student attending an accredited four-year university or an accredited community college in South Texas. The applicant must have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A., and have either a STEM related major or have interned at a South Texas energy company (gas, oil, wind, solar). The applicant must also share her exemplary academic records and demonstrated leadership potential.
Online Application Package
- Application – Applicant must fill out and submit an online application in its entirety.
- Essay – Along with the Application, student must submit an original essay, no longer than 500 words, which discusses what inspired you to go into your major.
- Letter of Reference – Along with the Application, student must submit one letter of reference either from a professor/educational leader, or previous leader. The letter should mention the applicant’s scholastic ability, work ethic, character, and/or leadership characteristics. Please have reference list name, title, university/college/company, phone number, and email address.
- Current Transcript - Must be submitted with your application.
- Proof of Registration – Must be shared with WEN’s scholarship committee prior to disbursement of award.
Prior to disbusement, award recipients must share Proof of Registration with the scholarship committee.
Application Deadline
The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 1, 2021 by 11:59 p.m.
Notification of Award
Winners will be notified via phone and email by a member of the WEN South Texas Scholarship Committee. They will also be acknowledged via the chapter’s newsletter and social media sites.
