UIAA MQL Application for Third Party Endorsement

Conditions

Agreement of all conditions in this section is required for any application to proceed to the next section.

Sponsorship of MQL applications to the UIAA by The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) must involve a model for training volunteer amateur leaders and instructors within a club setting or federation for “recreational mountaineers/rock climbers”. Applications designed as a commercial training school without a recreational volunteer membership base are not in line with the intent of the UIAA’s MQL program.

Acknowledge Agreement

Assurance that the program would not be used to train professional “leaders for money”, volunteer amateur leaders and instructors only.

Assurance that the applicant has established rights to the program for which the application will be made so others cannot claim intellectual or other property rights.

No insurance exposure will be directed towards the ACC. Insurance coverage must be secured and be independent of the ACC.

All application costs, time and efforts for MQL certification will be the responsibility the applicant. Sponsorship by the ACC would be the full measure of support for MQL application.

The working relationship to develop MQL will be strictly between the applicant and the UIAA Training Panel. The applicant would have to meet any and all UIAA requirements on their own.

The obligation the ACC has as the UIAA Canadian Federation Member in relation to third party MQL is to advise the UIAA if there is awareness of problems with the administration or delivery that gives cause to believe that the MQL scheme has changed dramatically after accreditation.
