    The Peer Supported StartUp Program is a free 8-week online learning program for individuals interested in launching or growing a small business or income generating activity. Individuals will network with like-minded entrepreneurs and build connections with each other; culminating in small group formations for group lending.

    Eligible individuals must:​

    • Have a practical idea to start or grow your own for-profit small business (any size, full or part-time)​
    • Self-identify as having experienced mental health and/or addiction issue
    • Be unable to access traditional bank financing for your small business​

    Two-Spirit: A term used by some First Nations people to describe the experience of having multiple gendered roles or spirits - the term references the idea of a person having a male and female spirit.

    For Training Applicants
    We will need to collect personal information from you to process your application and for administrative purposes if you are accepted. The information we may collect may include your name, birth date, e-mail address, phone number, home address, demographic data, financial status, your business idea and business plan.​

    We will use your personal information for the following purposes:

    • Process your submitted application;
    • Build relationships, facilitate networking opportunities and match entrepreneurs like you with mentors;
    • Assist with administrative or technical support of your participation in the program and your business;
    • Gather opinion and feedback through surveys;
    • Comply with Canadian legal and regulatory requirements;
    • Maintain statistical and record keeping operations.

    Your personal information may be collected, used or disclosed for any of the identified proposes to set out above. We will not use or disclose it for other purposes without obtaining additional consent from you.

    Please note that your consent is necessary for us to process your application and for administrative purposes if you are accepted. You may withdraw your consent at any time upon reasonable written notice, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. Please note that the withdrawal of consent will affect our ability to provide you with the products and services that you would like to receive.
    To achieve the identified purposes listed above, your personal information may be shared with third parties such as government or industry agencies, mentors and advisors to your business.

    Sometimes you may be working with a referral agency to help you prepare your business plan and start up your business. In this case, your personal information may be shared with this third party, based on your consent.

    By submitting this form you are authorizing Rise Asset Development to collect, use, or disclose your personal information that you provide to us for the identified purposes listed above.

    2. Credit Reporting Law Notice

    If you are applying for a loan, Rise Asset Development requires you to obtain and provide us with a Credit Report and Credit Score that is dated no more than three months prior to review. That credit report and score will be considered by us as part of our review process for your loan application in deciding whether to lend you funds.

    3. Canada’s Anti Spam Law

    From time to time Rise Asset Development may wish to send you e-mails as part of the administration of your loan or participation in a Rise Training Program or to provide advice to your business. We also send out group e-mails providing information such as program updates, event information or other information of interest to our clients.

    We need to collect and use your personal information to process your application.

    To be considered for any Rise Program, you must consent to our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
