  • Dodd Education & Support, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 corporation consisting of interested citizens who provide services and programs to enhance the growth and development of the Dallas County community.

    Mission

    Provide services and programs that engage, educate and elevate the underserved in the Dallas area community.

    Vision

    To have an informed and empowered community with the opportunity to improve their quality of life.

    Objectives

    • Partner/collaborate with Dallas area community based organizations (COBs) in designated programs and projects
    • Secure funding to implement and support designated service programs and projects
    • Maintain the physical facility to implement and manage service programs/projects by DES, Inc. and other COBs
    • Develop programmatic tools for educational training
    • Encourage, support and provide opportunity for volunteerism of members
  • Board of Directors Qualifications & Responsibilities 

  • A member of the Board of Directors shall serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms. The Corporation shall elect by majority vote successors for those Directors whose terms are expiring.

    • A term is defined as three (3) consecutive years. Board of Directors terms shall be staggered with no more than one-third of the Directors to be elected. Members of the Board of Directors shall be elected annually by the Corporation. Members seeking to serve on the board shall secure position by receiving a majority vote.

    A member who serves on the Board of Directors shall:

    • Have experience and/or expertise in one or more of the following areas; education, business, personnel, finance, fundraising, real estate and/or property management, social services, and non-profit management.
    • Be a financial member of Dodd Education and Support, Inc. for two (2) consecutive years including the year nomination.
    • Pay all fees, gifts, and assessments of the current by-laws.
    • Attend at least one (1) Dodd Education and Support, Inc.annual meeting and seventy-five percent (75%) of quarterly and called meetings.
    • Provide leadership for programming and standing committees of the Corporation.
    • Officers of the Corporation must not be officers of the any Non-Profit Organizations, in which the Corporation is in partnership or has memorandum of understanding, in order to preserve the separate and distinct status of the organizations as well as prevent conflicts of interest between the parties.
