• The Low Fell Food Market is returning for a whole weekend on Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 July!

    10.30am - 4.00pm

We're so delighted to be bringing this community market back over the summer months, supporting local independent businesses and enjoying beautiful Saltwell Park.

With the onset of COVID-19 we've had to make some temporary changes to the market in line with Government restrictions and have been working with Gateshead Council to agree a format that is safe and enjoyable for everyone. Here's a rundown of the main changes you'll notice:

    • Reduced number of visitors allowed on site at any one time
    • Ticketed entry with staggered access times to minimise queuing
    •  2m queue markers at all stalls PLUS
    •  Waiting bays at hot food stalls
    •  Wide walkways with a one way system
    •  No seating areas inside the market but you've still got the rest of the park to choose a picnic spot
    • Public toilets in the park remain closed
  • Tickets

Tickets are available for different entry times throughout the event. We will be selling a limited number of tickets for each entry time in order to minimise queuing and ensure that you have a more relaxed visit. A maximum of 4 adult and 2 child tickets can be purchased in one transaction. Please note that entry at your exact alloted time is not guaranteed although we'll be doing our best to ensure that everything runs to schedule!

    Tickets are non-refundable.

You will recieve a confirmation email but PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM / JUNK FOLDER as it may end up there!

  • Whilst we have your attention...

We're very excited to announce that we're in the process of becoming a CIC. Community Interest Companies exist to benefit a community and pursue services that have wide reaching benefits.

The Low Fell Food Market has always been a non-profit community event, run with key social objectives to benefit the local area and support independent businesses. Like most organisations we have struggled in the last few months but we hope our new CIC status will provide access to funding so we are able to develop and sustain the market for many years to come. If you are able to support us by way of a small donation we would be most grateful. Thanks!
