  • Membership Dues and Fees

  • Fair Share Contribution

We believe everyone should be invested in helping build community, but money should never prevent anyone from feeling part of that community. A Fair Share Contribution ensures that everyone's financial obligation is relative to their means. Under our Fair Share Contribution system, every family and individual is asked to contribute a minimum of 2% of their annual household income. This is a pledge level that members set for themseves based on their capacity to support CBI.

    Part-time Residents and Students

If you divide your time between the Asheville area and somewhere else, and you are away from Asheville for more than 6 months, you are welcome to adjust your Fair Share to reflect the time you are away. For full-time students, we ask for a reduced dues contribution of a minimum of $36 per year.

    Financial Assistance

For some, the minimum suggested 2% contribution may be too great. In those cases, individuals or families may contribute their time and energy in lieu of, or to supplement, a financial contribution. If you are interested in this option, check the box below and a member of our Financial Assistance Committe will contact you. All discussions are totally confidential.

The table below is intended to help you calculate your minimum suggested dues.

  • Additional Fees

Annual Kiddush Fee ($90): Our weekly Kiddush lunch after each Shabbat service is a chance for us to schmooze, catch up and enjoy a light meal together. CBI pays for the preparation, setting up, and cleaning up, and we ask members to help share the cost.

Annual Maintenance Fee ($90): This annual fee ensures that our beautiful building is maintained in good condition.

Building Reserve Fund ($950): The Building Reserve Fund exists to cover unexpected and otherwise major building repair and upkeep. This fee is typically paid over up to 6 years and is therefore invoiced separately from Annual Dues and Fees.

  • We encourage all who are able, to contribute more than the minimum suggested amount. To calculate your total contribution for 2019-20, please complete the following:
