This application is for the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship. The Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, in the amount of $1,500, will be awarded to a current undergraduate student pursuing a career in agriculture or an agricultural-related field. The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the number of qualified applicants and upon the availability of funds.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
- Be a current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in an agricultural-related field
- Be a resident of Lee County OR
Be a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing or dependent of a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing, as defined in the bylaws of the Lee County Farm Bureau
- Be enrolled at a post-secondary school in a field of study for a career connected to agriculture.
- Exhibit potential for successful completion of course of study
- Must not have received a scholarship from the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation in the prior year. Past scholarship winners are welcome to apply, however, they cannot recieve scholarships consecutively.
The criteria for awarding the scholarships are as follow:
- Academic achievement
- Demonstrated interest in agriculture and agribusiness
- Evidence that the student has developed a thorough financial plan to pay for their education
- Character and personality
- Maturity
- Industriousness and motivation
- Intellectual interest
- Moral character
- Demonstrated leadership
Terms: All scholarship funds are distributed directly to the student upon submission of final grades to the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation for the completed semester following the scholarship notification. Undergratuate Scholarship grades will be due by June 15.
Application must be completed and submitted by February 15th at 11:59 p.m.
