ANESTHESIA/SURGERY RELEASE FORM
Our greatest concern is the well-being of your pet. Each animal receives a thorough physical exam prior to anesthesia, and the anesthetic agents we use are carefully chosen. However, disorders of the kidneys, liver and blood, along with age-related or previous medical conditions, may increase the risk of complications during anesthesia.
These laboratory test are important because:
- Veterinary patients are unable to tell anyone what is wrong
- Patient history is limited to our observations
- Not all diseases are detectable by physical examinations
For these reasons we highly recommend pre-anesthetic blood work and urinalysis. These relatively non-invasive tests allow us to detect many disorders related to healing, organ function, and underlying illness. Test results are used to reduce the risks of anesthesia and surgery for your pet while providing a baseline for future problems.
The test fees listed below will be additional to the cost of surgery. The test fees are offered at a 20% savings when done as a pre-anesthetic package.
