Approximately how many DIFFERENT poles?
We don't need to design EVERY pole and footing, but in all powerline projects there are poles that carry different loadings depending on their role. Some are taller, some are spaced further apart, some change direction, some are stayed, some have pole-top transformers, some carry more (or less) conductors. We'll design each one of these as type 1, 2, 3 etc and then apply them to the project. For each, we'll also consider a couple of different ground conditions depending on the available geotechnical data.
