• NxtGen STEM Scholars Program

  • MI-LSAMP is excited to offer a premier learning opportunity for underrepresented minority students beginning their pursuit of a career in a STEM field. Participants will get a jump-start on acclimating to college life, career exploration opportunities, and receive specialized professional development opportunities. Participants will also join a vibrant community of scholars across six different institutions, with a suite of academic-year activities and events hosted throughout their academic journey.

  • The program will cover topics such as time management, goal setting, culturally responsive financial literacy, overcoming imposter syndrome and mental health awareness. Previous program participants have demonstrated increases in sense of belonging, STEM identity, feelings of preparedness for college, interest in research opportunities and graduate school.

  • This program will require you to commit to roughly 20 hours a week over a four-week period starting July 5th though July 29th. Sessions will occur Monday-Thursday, typically between 10am and 3pm. Participants can expect to engage with instructors and peers at regularly scheduled times for 5 hours per day.
