    • Employee 
    • As an Employee, my responsibilities will include

      • read and understand workplace health and safety requirements.
      • a statutory duty to act in a responsible manner for the safety of myself and colleagues who may be affected by their actions or omissions at work.
      • co-operate with the company in the implementation of the company's Safety Work Place and other arrangements necessary for implementing the Safety Policy and associated objectives.
      • ensure our work activities comply with all applicable OSH legal and other requirements.
      • perform all work activities in accordance to work instructions and safe work procedures.
      • wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
      • attend all required Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) training sessions, toolbox meetings, and related activities.
      • report all work-related incidents, accidents, near misses, injuries, or illness immediately.
      • report any unsafe work practices and conditions to the supervisor immediately.
      • co-operate with the appointed investigator during accident investigations.
      • participate in emergency response drills.
      • be updated on OSH requirements through OSH notice boards, email and intranet.
      • inspect tools, gadgets and equipment at the workplace regularly and ensure they are in good working condition before using them.
      • as a RA member, to conduct RA within the areas assigned by RM Team, determine if the hazards could bring harm beyond their work area.
    • Supervisor 
    • As a Supervisor, my responsibilities will include to

      • Conduct orientation and training of employees.
      • Monitor their workplaces frequently to identify unsafe or unhealthful conditions.
      • Take part in risk assessment and development of safe work procedures.
      • Take prompt action to correct hazardous conditions.
      • If a serious hazard is detected take immediate interim action to safeguard employees.
      • Encourage employees to report unsafe or unhealthful conditions.
      • Seek suggestions from employees for improvement of workplace conditions.
      • Prior to permitting employees to work with machine tools, chemicals, powered machinery, electrical systems and other such equipment, or enter confined spaces, operate forklifts, work in elevated locations or perform similar hazardous work, they must receive specialized training.
      • Contact the Office to obtain the requirements for such training.
      • Inform employees of the hazards associated with the work they are to perform prior to beginning the work.
      • Inform employees of the requirements to use any personal protective equipment, such as respirators, safety glasses, fall protection, head or foot protection, etc.
      • Ensure employees carry out safe work procedures when performing a specific task.
      • Inform employees of the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency.
      • Inform employees of any unique hazards in the workplace and how to identify them.
      • Inform employees of how to report unsafe or unhealthful conditions.
      • Inform employees of actions to take in the event of a work-related injury.
      • Maintain records of safety training provided, such as lesson plans, rosters, list of audio-visual and other materials used.
      • Monitor employee behaviour to ensure that work is being performed safely.
      • Take prompt action to correct any unsafe or unhealthful actions or behaviour.
      • Assist line manager to investigate workplace incident/near misses.
      • Conduct inspection to workplace, report and rectify the unsafe conditions in his capacity. If not to escalate to higher management for further action.
    • Line Manager 
    • As a Line Manager, my responsibilities will include to

      • Implement relevant safety management system for production/maintenance related activities.
      • Ensure all activities are carried out safely in accordance with the standards specified in the SMS manual and other company instructions.
      • Ensure that Safety Information (SI) and Standard Work Procedure (SWP) are developed for the operation.
      • Ensure that his supervisors and employees are trained and comply with SI and SWP.
      • Ensure that all production facilities used for the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals and other production equipment are properly maintained.
      • Investigate all workplace incident/near misses.
      • Maintain an inventory of all chemical used and stored.
      • Refers requisition of any new chemical to be purchased to the Health & Safety Officer for assessment.
      • Ensure SDS information is always available to the downstream crew.
      • Ensure that chemicals are stored and handled in accordance with the instructions contained in the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
      • Ensure proper segregation of incompatible classes of chemicals.
    • OSH Committee 
    • As an OSH Committee, my responsibilities will include to

      • Ensure an effective OSH Management System is established, implemented and maintained in conformance to SS506 Part III Requirements.
      • Identify and review all OSH hazards and carry out risk assessment.
      • Identify and maintain occupational safety and health legislation and regulations.
      • Establish and monitor OSH performance including objectives and management programmes.
      • Evaluate safety/health policies and procedures.
      • Identify training needs and plan for training.
      • Assist in organizing any contest, competition or other activity held to promote the OSH awareness and safe conduct of work in the factory.
      • Conduct a regular discussion (meeting) to discuss on the progress in developing OSH Management System.
      • Plan and coordinating internal and external audits and follow up on all discrepancies raised by the auditors.
      • Review corrective action taken.
      • Conduct workplace inspections and make a written report of hazards discovered during inspections.
      • Identify the location of safety procedures provided with appropriate equipment and inform employees of their location.
      • Recommend training for new employees and refresher training on company, department and work location safety practices, procedures and emergency response.
    • Occupational Safety and Health Management Representative (OSHMR) 
    • As a OSHMR my responsibilities will include to

      • Provide OSH consultation and support to the top management and staff.
      • Assist Line Managers to conduct accidents and incident investigations.
      • Review and submit accident investigating reports to top management and regulatory agencies.
      • Review OSH training needs and ensuring required training is provided to relevant personnel.
      • Develop, maintain and control all OSHMS documentation.
      • Prepare, update and communicate all OSH legal and other requirements, objectives and targets and audit action items to the Line Manager.
      • Develop annual OSH objectives and targets
      • Report OSH performance to the top management.
      • Being a primary point of contact for third-party OSHMS.
      • Plan on-site audits and inspections.
      • Oversee the closure of all audit action items.
      • Manage and report all corrective actions.
    • Internal Auditor 
    • As an Internal Auditor, my responsibilities will include to

      • Conduct internal audit as per internal audit procedure.
      • Compile and distribute audit report.
      • Initiate corrective and preventive actions.
      • Follow up on corrective and preventive actions implemented.
    • Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer 
    • As an EHS Officer, my responsibilities will include to

      • Report to the CEO/Deputy CEO.
      • Act as the point of contact with Government authorities, industry associations, etc. and keeps abreast of statutory regulations and industry standards.
      • Advise management on the implementation of the safety management system.
      • Coordinate SMS implementation activities.
      • Intervene when he comes across any unsafe condition or act.
      • Keep all health and safety records.

    • Human Resource Manager 
    • As a Human Resource Manager, my responsibilities will include to

      • Ensure that personnel recruited are suitably qualified for the job, including safety and health considerations.
      • Work with OSH committee to ensure training needs and plans of employees are reviewed annually.
      • Maintain employee training records.
      • Provide disciplinary action to employees who disregard employment policies and procedures.
