CODE OF CONDUCT: Berkshire Family YMCA (BFYMCA) is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment. Our Code of Conduct outlines prohibited actions for members, participants, visitors, and spectators. The Code of Conduct can be found on BFYMCA’s website at bfymca.org/code-of-conduct and posted inside the facilities. The actions listed are not an all-inclusive list of behaviors considered inappropriate in our facilities or programs on/off premises.
The Y reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who fails to comply with safety protocols, policies and procedures that are in place to protect the health and well-being of all. We expect persons using the Y to act maturely, to behave responsibly, and to respect the rights and dignity of others.
BFYMCA CORE VALUES: Through our personal commitment to these values, we can create a culture in which all can achieve their full potential.
Caring: To be sensitive to the needs of others and go the extra mile.
Honesty: To tell the truth, have integrity and build trust.
Respect: To value the work of every person and treat others as you would like to be treated.
Responsibility: To do what is right and be accountable for your behavior and obligations.
Inclusion: To ensure that all segments of society have access to the Y and feel welcomed and fully engaged.
YMCA Nationwide Membership Program: BFYMCA voluntarily participates in the YMCA Nationwide Membership Program. This ensures you are included in the national database which allows another participating Y within another association group to locate you. Each Y creates their own policies around facility access through this program.
SORI: The Y conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, BFYMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access.
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES: If my membership dues are paid through Automatic Payments from my credit card or bank, I understand this is a continuous membership plan. If I wish to terminate a continuous membership set up on a credit card draft or EFT, I understand I must give BFYMCA a 30-day notice by completing a Membership Cancellation form. I understand all memberships paid in full at time of activation are not subject to a refund if the membership is terminated before its expiration date and may not be placed on hold. I understand all membership rates are subject to change with 30 days written notice. I understand it is my responsibility to notify BFYMCA of any change in contact information or account information if utilizing Automatic Payments for dues. I understand that if my membership automatically terminates, I must activate my membership to use the facility.
I understand membership cards are the property of BFYMCA and must be surrendered upon demand. I understand the Join Fee is a one-time fee if I remain an active member of the Y. I understand if I choose to cancel or discontinue my membership for more than 30 days, a Join Fee will be charged when I reapply for membership. I understand that this agreement applies to my current and any future memberships with the Y. I understand all members and guests 18 years and older must present a valid photo ID upon request to use a Berkshire Family YMCA facility. I understand minors age 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult age 18 and older to use the facility. I understand minors age 13-17, may use the facility without an adult present and must comply with safety protocols, policies and procedures. I understand that the Y is not responsible for personal property lost, damaged, or stolen while members and/or program participants are using BFYMCA facilities, on BFYMCA premises, or involved in BFYMCA programs.
