We have placed a strong porcelain or zirconia restoration.  This is cemented with the best cements the dental industry has to offer.  As we plan that this tooth lasts a long time, please be sure to do your part at home with diligent brushing and flossing to keep your gums and teeth healthy.

The gum tissue around the prepared teeth may be sore for several days. You may rinse your mouth with warm salt water (put a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water, rinse and spit) to reduce and discomfort.

Your tooth may feel sensitive to temperature, sweets, or biting. This is normal and should subside in a few days. If this sensitivity is severe and does not dissipate, please contact the office immediately for an evaluation.

If when you bite, the new crown feels higher than your other teeth or the tooth is in discomfort after chewing, we will need you in for a bite adjustment.

A bite adjustment is usually needed if the anesthetic is effecting the way your teeth naturally come together and will not go away on its own, please come in within 1-2 weeks if possible.

Our 5 year warranty in place for dental treatment is as follows:

100% covered within one year, 80% covered within 2 years, 60% covered within 3 years, 40% covered within 4 years, 20% covered within 5 years.

This only applies to patients who continue care with Sheffield Square Dental and stay on their recommended hygiene schedule.  This includes agreeing to check up x-rays once a year to check the margins of the restoration placed.
