    Castaways Rescue is an all-volunteer, veteran owned non-profit, dog welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of stray, neglected and abused dogs. Castaways Rescue is completely funded through fundraising efforts and public donations. All of our pets are cared for by foster homes and receive complete medical care, which includes worming, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and microchipping prior to their adoption.

    This questionnaire is designed to help Castaways Rescue and yourself determine if a specific dog is the right one for you and your household. All adopting parties are required to complete this form prior to adoption. Castaways Rescue reserves the right to deny any adoption based on answers to this questionnaire and/or interviews and meet and greets prior to adoptions!

     
     

  • All applicants must:

    • be at least 21 years of age
    • provide a vet reference
    • complete a home visit
    • provide a lease agreement (if applicable) showing that the dog they are applying for is allowed (we will not place a dog in a home that only allows "emotional support" or "service" animals- they MUST be allowed as pets)

    All rescue dogs are spayed/neutered between 8-12 weeks of age or as soon as possible after entering Castaways care.  If you would like to foster-to-adopt before their scheduled spay/neuter, you will be responsible for transporting the dog to and from their spay/neuter appointment.  Failure to keep the appointment will result in removal of the dog from your care OR you will be responsible for covering the cost of the rescheduled spay/neuter appointment.
