In order to calculate your FTE, you will need to know the total number of hours of service for which the employer paid wages at the business's Fulshear location for the 12 month period from February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020, After you tabulate this, you will divide the total hours paid by 2080, which will yield your total FTE employee count.
If you were not in operations for the total 12 months noted, or opened after February 1, 2020, you may still be eligible, however, you will need to calculate FTEs on a prorated basis. For example, if you were in operations for only 12 weeks prior March 13, 2020, tabulate the total hours of service for which wages were paid and divide this by the prorated portion of 2080 for the service period (in this case: 40 hrs a week X 12 weeks).
If the result of either caclulation is not a whole number, round down, however, if the total it is less than 1, round to 1.
If you are a business owner/operator who does not pay yourself, add 1 to the total number of FTEs calculated.
SAMPLE BASIC CALCULATIONS:
FULL 12 MONTHS OPERATIONS 2/1/2019 - 12/31/2020:
Total Service Hours: 10,400
10,400 / 2080 (40 hours @ 52 weeks) = 5 FTE
PRO-RATED OPERATIONS FOR 12 WEEKS PRIOR TO 3/13/2020:
Total Service Hours: 2,400
2,400 / 480 (40 hours @ 12 weeks) = 5 FTE
