  • The do your :bit challenge is open to anybody aged 8-18 years old. Please ensure you check the correct age group category when you are filling in the entry form.

  • For your age bracket, there are two separate categories to the do your :bit challenge. 

    Category 1:
    Submit an idea that solves a problem that works towards the Global Goals and create a paper prototype to explain the idea.

    Category 2:
    Design and make a solution using the micro:bit to solve a problem that works towards the Global Goals.

  • Entrants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian or teacher’s consent to enter the competition. If you are entering as a team, you will need to fill in this information for each team member.

  • We would like consent from your parent/ guardian/ teacher to:

    • keep photographs and videos submitted as part of this programme for a 5 year period during which time they may be used by the Foundation or do your :bit partners in internal and external communications.

     

    • keep e-mail addresses in this entry form for a 5 year period, be in touch on associated challenges and put you in touch with partners working on similar projects, we would seek permission before sharing details.

     

    • details will be kept as per the Foundation privacy policy on folders accessible to Foundation staff only and not shared further. If at any point you would like to remove this consent or wanted your details to be removed, please write to info@microbit.org who will arrange to delete any details we have on our systems.

     

    • we expect teachers to have sought and recorded the appropriate consent of students where teachers are entering on behalf of student groups
