The pay periods for restaurant managers has been aligned to correspond to the team member’s pay period due to consolidation of pay-companies, subsequent changes in pay structure and elimination of duplication of work when processing payroll each month.
The pay period for all Mangers (Shift Supervisor up to RGM level), has been set to start on the 15th of each month and end on the 14th of each month with effect from 01 May 2020.
For an example, in the May 2020 pay period managers who worked in the restaurants that were trading during Stage 4 of Lockdown where paid for hours worked from 01 May 2020 until 14 May 2020. Meaning, for the June 2020 pay period they were paid for hours worked from 15 May 2020 to 14 June 2020.
All managers were informed when they returned back to work from the various stages of lockdown that they must clock in and out as per Kitam’s time and attendance procedure in the restaurant and failure to do so will mean that the employee did not report for duty. This will also enable the trace and tracking process should an employee contract Covid-19.
Since all managers are working on reduced hours, to enable social distancing in the workplace in an attempt to mitigation Covid-19 infections, the balance of hours not worked will be claimed from UIF under reduced working hours for as long as this grant is available.
