Market Information
The New Roots Kids' Market is open to youth ages 6 to 16 living in Yellowhead County (and its communities), Edson or Hinton.
Participants are expected to bring their own table. You are allotted a 10 foot by 5 foot space. Leaman Exchange will provide chairs. There will be no need for tents as the market will be on a covered deck. Entrepreneurs will not have access to plugins.
Participants are highly encouraged to sell items they have personally made, grown or developed.
The market will run from 10am to 6pm, August 15 and 16th. Set up will begin at 9am and participants are asked to have their tables ready for 10. We understand that 10 to 6 can be a long day for our younger members, so after the initial start time of 10, participants and set down their tables whenever they would like. Participants are free to participate on both Saturday and Sunday or for just one day.
A guardian is expected to be with the entrepreneur for the duration of the day, unless otherwise discussed with organizers.
Participation in the market is free, however participants will be asked to volunteer on the farm during open farm days for no more than 30 minutes during the day. Some volunteer tasks are: delivering water and snacks to other volunteers, making sure hand santizing stations are clean, picking up any garbage, watching other vendor's tables while they use the bathroom etc. By signing up for the New Roots Kids' Market, your table is committing to up to 30 minutes of volunteering (if you have three people at your booth, the volunteering can be divided between you).
