July 2021 (updated on Monday July 19th)
As you'll be aware all public places have created new rules for visitors to follow for their safety and the safety of others. The guidelines below have been set out by the government and my professional body the ISRM (The Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage).
I'm sure by now much of what follows will be familiar practise to you, but please read this letter before coming for your treatment. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.
We're asking all clients to maintain a two metre distance from other people at all times. The only exception to this is with me, and I'll let you know when it's appropriate for us to approach under two metres and for how long.
For social distancing reasons, unless you require assistance for specific support and care needs, please come alone for the appointment where possible unless a chaperone, parent or carer is required. Please leave accessory items (nonessential bags and coats) in the car, or travel with as little as possible.
Please bring your own water to drink.
Please bring your own tissues to use.
Please bring your own face-mask or face-covering.
Please bring your own hand-sanitiser.
If you or someone you live with develops symptoms of Covid-19 by the time of the appointment, please contact me before coming for your treatment.
I've spaced out patient arrivals and departures so that all clients can remain socially distanced as much as possible (30mins between appts), and so that the therapy room can be fully cleaned and ventillated between clients.
You'll receive a time for your appointment and I'd be grateful if you could arrive no more than 5 minutes early and also be prompt for your appointment as I am unable to run over time.
At the entrance, please just knock and I will come to the door. I then have to ask you some questions relating to COVID-19 before I can show you through to the therapy room. It is at this point that you will need to put on your face-mask or face-covering. I will be wearing mine.
Please bring your own hand sanitiser to use if you have it. Please sanitise your hands immediately upon entering. If you don’t have any hand sanitiser, I’ll direct you to where 70% alcohol-based hand santising gel is available. Please also sanitise your hands before leaving.
Face mask and respiratory hygiene
In line with ISRM guidelines, it is mandatory that you wear a face-mask or face-covering from the moment you enter our premises until you leave, unless you experience respiratory difficulties or anxiety or distress in doing so. Please remember to bring your own.
If you need to sneeze or cough while in our premises, please do so into a disposable tissue and throw it away immediately. Please clean your hands with sanitiser immediately after doing so.
Bringing your own towels and sheet
Please note that fresh towels and couch sheets/roll are used for each client. In between appointments, the therapy room and all touchpoints are fully cleaned with disinfectant, and the room ventillated.
If it helps put your mind more at ease, you are more than welcome to bring your own towel(s) and sheet to lay on.
It is recommended where possible to not use the toilet facilities at our premises. However, if you do need to, there will be cleaning products inside the toilet area for you to use before and after using the toilet and basin. Please wash your hands well afterwards, and place any used paper-towel in the bin provided. Please also let me know if you do use the facilities as I will clean this area before the next client.
I'm very much looking forward to welcoming you back to your soft tissue therapy treatments!
