Mommy Monitor's youth subcommittee is currently recruiting for (2) Writers/Editors. We are looking for passionate, self-motivated youth to contribute articles to Mommy Monitor's Medium page. Ideal candidates must be well-informed with highly effective communication and teamwork skills.
The goals of our youth subcommittee are to promote youth leadership, to actively seek the input of young mothers (particularly mothers from Black and other racialized groups) on their maternal health needs and experiences, and to engage youth using existing Mommy Monitor services. Volunteer applications from youth that identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) and young parents will be prioritized.
Roles/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
Write articles on issues relating to youth, maternal health, health equity, and other topics relevant to Mommy Monitor's youth subcommittee
Write one article per month to be published on Mommy Monitor's Medium page while meeting publication deadlines
Participate in weekly meetings and provide blog content suggestions and feedback
Strong command of the English language with exceptional writing and editing skills (a writing sample will be requested)
Excellent attention to detail
Interest in maternal health
Ability to work remotely in a team environment
Time Commitment: 3-4 hours / week
