headspace aims to have young people involved in every aspect of the decision-making for our centre to ensure young people's voices and opinions remain front and centre.
The Youth Advisory Groups (YAG) at headspace Tweed Heads and headspace Lismore are made up of volunteers aged 12-25yo who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Our YAGs make sure that any new initiative from headspace will make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
Some of the things we do in the YAG include:
- plan and run youth events, workshops, school talks. community awareness headspace stalls at festivals and more.
- use our social media platforms to connect with and empower other young people and their families
- assist in the design and development of our centre - shaping the delivery of headspace services, including policy, staff recruitment and training
- represent headspace at events for local organisations/services/schools
headspace wants to hear from a diverse range of voices. You are especially encouraged to apply if you:
- have experienced your own struggles or feel passionate about improving the mental health and wellbeing of local young people
- are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young person, have a disability or identify as LGBTIQAP+
If this sounds like something you'd like to be part of, please complete the following expression of interest form, and we'll be in contact soon.
